If I have Echo/Alexa do I still need the hue bridge to make these lights work?

If you have previous versions of alexa/echo you will need a hue bridge as previous versions do not come with any hub so cannot be controlled.

The Philips lights work with the Echo plus model as this comes with a hub internally. It allows dimmability and onoff. For full functionality like geo fencing/recalling scenes etc a hue bridge is required.

I fitted the hue strip under a TV cabinet… the glow is perfect. Its all controlled via my Apple Homekit. The strip turns on if certain conditions are met. I have a hue motion sensor, so if its after sunset, and the motion sensor picks up movement, the strip along with other hue lights will turn on. 🙂
No this does not come with a Hue Bridge, this needs to be purchased separate.
The Philips Hue Light strip is brilliant for accenting aspects in a room, I have installed said light behind my headboard, which in combination with other Hue lights sets the room for any mood. The only issue is that you have to cut the light strip to size and the excess cannot be re-attached or used again. So if I were to move the light strip somewhere else it may not be long enough any more. Works great with Alexa and Apple Home Kit
