A large and very rare Byzantine bronze oil lamp with stand. The lamp is decorated with a large cross from which hangs tweezers and a small pin, on the original bronze chain, used to clean the lamp nozzle and wick. The cover of the fill hole is present and incised with three concentric circles. Found in Bethlehem. Both the lamp and the stand are in excellent and original condition with a very nice patina.
